Solid Principles Podcast: Episode 33 - United States Plus One – The Prospect of Puerto Rico as the 51st State: When HR.2499, the Puerto Rico Democracy Act of 2010 passed the House 223 – 169, it barely gathered a whimper of press. The prospect of America gaining a new state would normally be newsworthy, yet H.R.2499 missed out. Meanwhile, decade old perceptions of Democratic gerrymandering, and opinions based on the 93 and 98 failed plebiscites re-surfaced. This 78 Minute Audio Documentary speaks with the participants themselves, and undercover the story of what could become the most debated plebiscite in American history. . Solid Principles Archive: The Divided States of America - Over the past number of years, several groups from Texas, Hawaii, Alaska, and Vermont amongst others have voiced their desire to secede from The union to establish their own independent nations. This audio documentary speaks with the participants of these secessionist movements within America. This podcast originally appeared on April 28st, 2009. PLEASE NOTE: Prior to the establishment of Solid Principles, both co-founders John Cronin and Craig Edwards produced a small numbers of podcasts on the Committed to Romney blog between April and May 2009. Recently, Solid Principles re-visited this archive and reissued two episodes: John Cronin's report from Notre Dame campus during President Obama's honorary degree visit, and Craig Edward's audio documentary 'The Divided States of America' on the topic of Modern Secessionist Movements within America. Both of these podcasts appear only on the Solid Principles website. Due to a slight Podcast production delay, it seemed fitting to share this archive until the next scheduled Podcast is released next week.

            <itunes:summary>
Melting Waxman: Ari David is indeed a rare breed. A Hollywood conservative taking upon himself the difficult task of challenging Henry Waxman this November. As members of ‘Generation X’ are now entering the political arena, Ari David is proving the children of the ‘Baby Boomers’ are now yawning defiantly at the tired Liberal dogma coming from Washington D.C. Could this unthinkable mix of decades old cynicism, and a steady diet of pop culture possibly change Washington and in turn America?

Solid Principles was privileged to have a short audience, with the man himself.

Tea Party For Sale: Since emerging in 2009, the Tea Party movement has taken on a life of it's own. The term 'Tea Party' was the moniker the disenfranchised used to identify themselves, and to express governmental resentment. What originally served as an outlet for Government anger, has now given way to commercialism, and opportunism. An expensive Tea Party Convention with a six figure speaker fee for Sarah Palin, and the Republican Party now viewing Tea Party supporters as potential recruits. So how exactly did the Tea Party reach this point? Solid Principles spoke to Dale Robertson, the founder of teaparty.org to find out why.

SOLID PRINCIPLES PODCAST: Episode 20
Government Motors Redux: During it's first year in office, the Obama Administration repeatedly used the subject of TARP to stir up public anger towards the financial sector. Other recipients also receiving TARP funds included General Motors and Chrysler, both of which escaped the long running campaign of TARP resentment. On this edition, Solid Principles revisits the saga of Government Motors. We track the status of these 'bailed out automakers' with Karl Brauer, Editor In Chief at Edmunds.com.
