The Presidential Snow Ball Chance in Hell of McCotter…

Congressman Thaddeus McCotter of Michigan has thrown his hat into the GOP Presidential ring. McCotter is the same man that proclaimed “I think the majority of the Republican electorate isn’t happy with the choices they’ve got (in the Presidential Race) and want to take a look at new people,” meaning himself.

Even The Christian Science Monitor jumped onto the skeptic’s wagon when it pointed out, McCotter’s first obstacle will be his lack of name recognition. It has been historically proven that Congressional Presidential candidates tend to have a snowballs chance in hell, McCotter is no exception.

In June, McCotter had a Pawlenty like Romneycare comment, a snipe he justified as not coming from a potential or current politician, but from a regular resident of the United States. Based on his softball interview by ‘Romney foe’ Mike Huckabee, it’s clear Huckabee was rewarding Cotter for his stance.

Apart from briefly planting McCotter onto the national stage, I can’t imagine McCotter gaining a following along the lines of Ron Paul, nor it likely to endanger Romney’s chance of regaining Michigan during the 2012 Republican Primaries.
