The 1500+ page manifesto tells of a young man with fantasies of knights and crusades to defend what he considers the true European culture. Mr. Breivik also belongs to the Free Masons (first grade) and describes himself as a Justiciar Knight in his new movement, which he claims is international – and which borrows from old Norse religion

The true measure of extremism, is the uncanny ability in changing the dynamic of an entire political spectrum within the aftermath of their actions. For the case of Anders Behring Breivik, he deluded himself into planning his actions, and justified them via his own manifesto. Some of his mannerisms he contributed to The Right side of the Political Spectrum. As much as Breivik intended his antics to assist The Right, they now strengthened The Left.

The Right has long directed social commentary and criticism towards Political Correctness, Nanny-State Welfare systems, and the impact of Islamic Immigration on it’s National identity. This form of conservative social critique has been added by Pamela Geller, and politically by Geert Wilders. When Anders Behring Breivik presented his manifesto ‘2083 — A European Declaration of Independence‘, he adopted similar conservative critique into his own. However in pushing these views towards Breivik extremism, equally compounded by his own actions, The Left now establish a revised generalization towards The Right.

Based on this perception, it allows The Left to view The Right on the Political Spectrum with a blanket effect, that all conservative social critique is automatically deemed ‘Breivikish‘ and lacking validity. Once the generalization is established, the stigma is never removed.

However in reading the Breivik Manifesto, those conservative commentators quoted in the Manifesto and those on The Right would considerably have a lot of steeping off points, most especially before the conclusions supporting the use of bombing and shooting people. The same can be said for The Left’s stepping off points they would share with the Weather Underground, or The Red Army Faction.

In the aftermath of extremism, the Political Spectrum becomes a ‘Flexible Tent’, that provides both sides the opportunity to create generalizations. If that is the case here, The Left are currently serving and The Right are on the receiving end.

EDITOR FOREWORD: I thought I had the closed the book on the Anders Behring Breivik Facebook Profile saga, having received this email, I felt it was worth sharing given the speculation some (including myself) have made over the altered Facebook Profile of Breivik.

“When I first accessed the profile, I was not logged in to Facebook. The  profile  as displayed in Norwegian and only showed the information under
Arts and Entertainment, Sport and Activities and Interests. This is EXACTLY as seen in the first image that Pamela Gellar has shown, and in your PDF of the google cache.

I logged in to Facebook and was immediately returned to the profile. The
profile was then displayed in English, and it included the information on
his employment and academic background (at the top), political and religious affiliation, and the basic information (his gender and marital status).  

This is EXACTLY as seen in the second image that Pamela Gellar has shown, and the first two pages of the PDF file. I did not access the profile further.

If you look at the first screenshot (the one that doesn’t show the political and religious information) you can clearly see that whoever took it was not logged in – the log-in prompt is in the top right-hand corner, and there is also a button for registration (in Norwegian, “Registrer deg”).

I have experienced the same changes before when viewing profiles before and then after logging in to the site. I assume that a profile is naturally displayed in the language of the country where it has been created, and with only limited information; if you yourself log in to Facebook, that profile is then translated into the language of the country where you have registered, and a greater amount of information is displayed. I do not know whether this varies according to the security settings of the profile you are viewing, but if you try it yourself, I think you will see what I mean.

So, Breivik’s profile was not changed after his arrest – the differences are related to whether or not that profile was viewed whilst logged-in to Facebook”.

1: Why is there a version of Anders Behring Breivik’s Facebook profile not showing Christian / Conservative?  Even Google’s cache of the Facebook profile on retrieved on Jul 22, 2011 23:52:36 GMT supports this theory.

2: How was Christian / Conservative added prior to the profile being removed from Facebook? If our PDF was printed out/saved at 01:39 GMT, and the profile was deleted soon afterwards by Facebook, how was a detained Anders Behring Breivik able to change it?  

3: Which then needs to be asked, Who had access to the Profile before removing it?
