Leave it to the Left Wing Press to support Roman Polanski, I’ve never seen so much such twisted logic masquerading as liberal enlightenment in all my life. The Washington Post’s Anne Applebaum lends to the impression, Sharon Tate aside, Polanski has suffered quite enough already.

He’s already paid for this. He did commit a crime, but he has paid for the crime in many, many ways: In notoriety, in lawyers’ fees, in professional stigma. He could not return to Los Angeles to receive his recent Oscar. He cannot visit Hollywood to direct or cast a film.

Now let’s just stick to the facts shall we? How about reading this unsealed testimony of then 13 year old rape victim Samantha Gailey? And, when your done reading that, ask yourself, why shouldn’t he be punished for it? Does winning an Oscar seem to taint the mind of certain people? Sure I liked Chinatown, but I don’t think that gets you off the hook for raping and sodomizing a 13 year old girl! After all, he did flee the country to avoid sentence and had already pleaded guilty, why are the left forgetting that fact as well?
Am I the only one looking forward to Polanski finally confronting Charles Manson in Corcoran State Prison?
