[Editor's Commentary: The above sound byte is one of the most ridiculous utterances I have heard so far this year.....and that's saying something in this environment. I suspect Trumka knows a little better than this, but if I'm wrong and he really doesn't he needs to get a subscription to the Wall Street Journal or some other reliable financial publication.
The list of the culprits in the financal markets 2008 meltdown is long. Wall Street cannot cause a meltdown by and of itself. World markets are too big for even the most powerful investment bank to manipulate. No one can cause markets to move against their fundamentals for more than a very brief period. Since Trumka doesn't understand this, it's one more reason to throw him and his Congressional Democrat stooges onto the sidewalk this November and let the markets perform their vital functions without carrying Trumka and the rest of his Party on their back.]
