As reported back in June, the California Assembly either lives in denial of it’s own economic crisis, or just intent on pushing a stupid politically correct social agenda down the throats of the public (no matter the price). May 22nd is now Harvey Milk Day thanks to the signature of one Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the governor of California, has signed a law setting aside a day to commemorate Harvey Milk, a gay San Francisco politician who was shot dead three decades ago.
Under the measure, 22 May will be declared Harvey Milk day in California, coinciding with Milk’s birthday. While it will not be a state holiday, schools will be encouraged to hold lessons “remembering the life of Harvey Milk, recognising his accomplishments and familiarising pupils with the contributions he made to this state”.

When MLK Jr. Day was announced, the left insisted that the day be fully honored by all Americans. Aside from the typical anti MLK Day lunatics, there are even guidelines for adhering to MLK Day. You can expect those not celebrating Harvey Milk Day, to be labeled as ‘Homophobic’ and for not bowing toward the direction of San Francisco on that ‘One Day in May’.
And once again, like a President that bushes aside urgent matters (like job creations, the economy & so on) to focus on Health Care Reform, the Californian Assembly pushed aside similar concerns for Harvey Milk Day. Now that Schwarzenegger has caved into their lunatic demands, the State Assembly can now return to avoiding the real problems like how to restore the Central Valley Agricultural industry and balance the Californian state budget.
