The standards by which Letterman operates are low to begin with. I haven’t watched him for years. The double-standard applied to his recent antics makes him doubly disgraceful.
We have become a nation of coarse hypocrites. A return to solid principles is desperately needed!
Its absolutely disgraceful for Letterman to use a young girl’s rape for his ‘so called’ humor. Alex Rodriquez should have come down hard on him. Sarah should have come down hard, stated her opinion, then backed off for the sake of her daughter.
I think these kinds of things are MSM’s backhanded methods of propelling Palin forward. I think they would love to run against Palin in the general. Way too many women hate her for her to be successful against Obama, whom they seem to love according to the polls.
Sarah Palin is pro life and attends a Pentecostal church. She is therefore in the same general category as Catholics. We are pro life and beleive the Eucharist is the body of Christ.
It follows that the MSM and their allies, the late night talk show comedians, have long ago declared open season on us, however times are changing. They have taught us to fight back and we are getting good at it.
Someone once asked me how you compete against the Hillary Clintons, the Barack Obamas and the David Lettermanns of this world, knowing that they will never be called out by the traditional media. I said it is simple: the best defense against these people is an open microphone. Let them talk. Give them plenty of rope. They will provide the campaign ads to use against them in 2010 and beyond.
Fair minded Americans are getting fed up with this stuff. I sincerly believe a backlash is coming.
Mitt Romney is going to benefit from these attacks as well. We have seen many reports in recent weeks on the regrets that many voters now have for not voting for Gov. Romney in the primaries. That’s the bad news, the good news is that MR will almost surely run in 2012. This time, I am confident, the voters won’t make the same mistake twice.
I’m really glad you did this.
I was grossed out and appalled by the first Letterman show but his “apology” wrapped in a joke really ticked me off especially with the way the buffoons in the audience were eating it up.
Any bets that if he had substituted in the Obama family or the Clinton family he would have been booed to death and shredded by the rest of the liberal media and Hollywood. There would probably be calls to boycott his show and any companies advertising on it.
I don’t condone bad behavior by conservative leaning comics or commentators either but the double standard of the liberals is really getting tiresome. I even think they know they are playing a double standard game, but since they have their buddies in control of the MSM they feel safe and even justified with keeping right on doing it.
