Sometimes the allure of comedy can be a hard thing to refuse. When “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In invited the late William F. Buckley to appear on ‘Laugh-In’, he immediately declined. Rowan & Martin’s next telegram to Buckley simply asked: “Would you appear on the show if we flew you in on a plane with two right wings?” Buckley couldn’t resist.
