Continuing the roller coaster ride that is the dysfunctional Obama administration, Rasmussen Reports that Obama’s poll numbers have sunk back to more familiar territory after a brief bounce from his speech ( infomercial ) before a joint session of Congress recently.
I have to admit that the bounce made me a little nervous. However, now that I see his approval index is at –9, I am feeling much better, thank you.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 31% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -9 (see trends).

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter and Facebook.
Overall, 49% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. Fifty (50%) now disapprove. A Month-by-Month Review of the President’s ratings shows that the Presidential Approval Index served as a leading indicator by declining months before the President’s overall job approval ratings fell.
Opposition to the President’s health care plan is up to 56%. However, over the past several months, public opinion on the topic has been remarkably stable. A Rasmussen video report notes that 53% of those with insurance believe they would be forced to change coverage if the proposed health care reform is approved.
