OMG! Obama’s doing the “Limbo Rock” again! He’s trying to answer Chubby Checker’s question from years ago, “How Low Can You Go?”
Mr. President: A warm smile, a firm handshake and some pleasant small talk will do just fine. You’re the POTUS, stop groveling!

Dang!! That post is funny……even if I do say so myself!
Somebody should have told the President that you don’t bow and shake hands at the same time…one or the other.
Also, the angle of bowing and the relative depth of the bow show the relative status between the two people.
So in this picture the Emperor is probably feeling rather awkward as the Head of the United States not only suddenly bows while shaking his hand, but also goes down at a deep angle showing much relative subservience. Also note that the Emperor is trying to look into Obama’s face but Obama is too busy staring at the floor to look back….another sign that Obama views the other man as being of much higher status.
But hey, Obama will pickup some popularity points in Japan for exalting the Emperor
