6 Year Olds With Crayons

Baghdad BobBaghdad Bob Gibbs is advising us not to pay attention to silly old things like the Gallup Poll organization…….especially when their polls show your guy heading toward the desert floor at 600 knots with flames coming out of the cockpit.

I get the distinct impression that this bunch of pretenders is through……Still dangerous because of the Democrat super majority, but pretty much through.

After all the hype, all the empty talk about “Hope,” “Change,” “Yes We Can”…..No, you can’t. Can’t get the Afghan war strategy right, can’t shove FOCA down out throats, can’t fix the economy, can’t save the dollar on foreign exchange markets, can’t craft a health care bill that anybody wants. Anybody outside of the 15% of the electorate that has portraits of Karl Marx in their living rooms, that is.

Now the voters await the 2010 and 2012 elections with gleeful anticipation. Kind of like 6 year olds on Christmas Eve night, looking out the window and waiting for Santa and his reindeers and that sleigh loaded with presents.

Our presents will be a return to Constitutional principles, government that serves the best interests of the people and policies that will set in motion the next economic boom that will repair the damage cause by this gaggle of Alinskyites.

INSIDE THE GAGGLE – Here’s what you need to know from White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs’s morning conversation with reporters:

- Gibbs blasted the Gallup Poll’s daily tracking numbers showing POTUS with an approval rating of 47 percent. “I tell you, if I was a heart patient and Gallup was my EKG, I’d visit my doctor,” he said.

- Reacting to Tuesday’s bombings in Iraq, Gibbs told reporters: “We strongly condemn the violence.” He continued to praise Iraqi officials for passing a new elections law, saying “leaders there from all sects have done a lot” to move the country forward.

- Arguing that the stimulus will start to kick in faster over the next six months, Gibbs framed expectations thusly: “It’s not twice as much money, it’s twice as many projects.”

- The White House will likely issue a statement responding to the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Citizens United campaign finance case, expected later this week, he said.

- Federal bank bailout money is going to be used to fund some of POTUS’s jobs initiatives, Gibbs confirmed. “If there are things that can be done to help lending, particularly with small businesses,” that would “likely” fall under TARP funding.

The White House lashed out at the Gallup Poll on Tuesday after the survey’s daily tracking numbers showed President Obama’s approval rating dropping to a new low of 47 percent.

Asked for a response to Monday’s tracking poll, which placed Obama’s approval numbers among the lowest of any recent president in December of his first year in office, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs mocked the reliability of the widely respected polling firm.

“I tell you, if I was a heart patient and Gallup was my EKG, I’d visit my doctor,” Gibbs said. “If you look back, I think five days ago, there was an 11-point spread, now there’s a 1-point spread. I mean, I’m sure a 6-year-old with a crayon could do something not unlike that. I don’t put a lot of stake in, never have, in the EKG that is the daily Gallup trend.”

He added: “I don’t pay a lot of attention to the meaninglessness of it.”

Gallup’s tracking poll showed an uptick in Obama’s numbers last week following his speech outlining a new strategy for the war in Afghanistan. But in Monday’s polling release, Gallup’s Jeffrey M. Jones wrote: “Any slight bump in support Obama received coincident with his new Afghanistan policy proved to be very short-lived, as his approval rating returned to below the majority level by the weekend and slipped further to 47 percent in Dec. 4-6 polling.”
